Engine: Initial Start Up

Today, we fired up the engine for the first time. After doing all the little things to get it ready, it started right up. We kept the rpm's between 1500 and 2000 for about 20 minutes. The oil pressure was 80 pounds, the engine temperature leveled off at 185 degrees, the oil temp was around 160 degrees but the alternator didn't seem to be working very well. Overall, the engine sounded really good with the headers and 2 and 1/2 inch exhaust.

White Gauges and Center Dash Pod

These stock gauges were updated with a white overlay kit. I did this to match the gauge pod I made. The four gauges are: oil pressure, oil temperature, coolant temperature and voltage. You can change the color of the LED gauges with a push of a button.

Eleanor's 351c Engine Rebuilt 0.30 over with mild cam and compression 9.5:1. Flat top pistons. Crankshaft ground .10/.10

The engine (seen above) that I bought from craigslist turned out to be bad. The engine had sat outside allowing water to enter the cylinders and rusting the pistons and rings. I had to buy another 351C block and have it machined. This is how my engine looked when I got it back from the machine shop. I assembled the rest of the engine. It was fun!
