The original Gone in 60 seconds "Eleanor" was a 1971 Mustang masquerading as a '73 Mach 1. The more recent Eleanor was a '67 fastback. My "E Clone" Mustang will combine features from both.
looks amazing, man! hey what did you use for the rear brake vents? were they straight from an earlier mustang or custom fab? I am in the middle of a 72 mach 1 myself and i have been thinking about some vents for a while. Seeing that they look so good on yours makes me want to try it out. Are they functional? Also, are you set on your paint combo/style? I have been working on a 3d model of a 72 mach 1 that i have been using for checking out all kinds of paint/striping options. I'd be happy to try something out for you if you'd like to see something different. It's awfully difficult to visualize without a model, unless you have seen it done before! I had not modeled the vents yet, but thats coming up. Anyway, good luck - it looks like an awesome project!
Thanks! I used some Shelby vents I bought from Mustangs Unlimited. I cut 3 inch holes in the 1/4 panel and rear wheelhouse. I had to cut down the vents to make them fit. Lastly, I bonded studs to the vents, drilled holes and bolted them on. Then I lightly fiberglassed around them. They are functional.
